For the targeted correction of wrinkles, there are now new types of hyaluronic acid products that can be easily injected into the skin, are particularly stable and ensure long-lasting cosmetic results. This new type of hyaluronic acid is evenly distributed in the skin and achieves smooth transitions between treated and untreated areas. The result of the wrinkle treatment: a particularly natural and beautiful appearance.
Wrinkle treatment with fillers or filler materials is particularly suitable: Superficial wrinkles such as crow’s feet or upper lip wrinkles, medium to deeper wrinkles such as forehead wrinkles, as well as wrinkles around the nose or mouth. The new products are also ideal for increasing lip volume (lip augmentation) or for contour optimization.

Hyaluronic acid for wrinkle treatment
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in all living organisms. It binds water in the tissue. In this way, hyaluronic acid fulfills a variety of functions. For example, it gives shape to the eyes, elasticity to the joints and volume and elasticity to the skin. In its natural form, hyaluronic acid is broken down very quickly by the body. However, by slightly changing the structure of hyaluronic acid, stabilization can be achieved, which means that the substance remains in the tissue for a longer period of time.
There are various hyaluronic acid preparations. The various preparations differ slightly in the way they are manufactured. The prevention-center uses preparations from the Restylane®, Juvederm® and Macrolane® series. These products are manufactured without the use of animal-based ingredients and are optimally matched to each other. To date, several million people worldwide have been treated with these products.
Treatment alternatives
The choice of treatment methods within aesthetic medicine depends on the client’s wishes on the one hand and the initial situation on the other. The treatment method(s) that are particularly suitable – often in combination – vary greatly from person to person. For example, wrinkle treatment with gentle injections can be a suitable alternative under certain circumstances. However, this should be the subject of an individual consultation.
Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid - treatment procedure
The filling material is injected in tiny amounts into the skin under the wrinkle to be corrected or into the lip and along the lip contours using a thin needle. Most facial wrinkles can be easily improved with a single treatment. Wrinkles in the mouth region occasionally require two to three treatments within a few weeks for optimal results.
Depending on the client’s sensitivity to pain, the treatment may cause slight pain. The correction of wrinkles in the forehead or nasolabial folds is usually tolerated without local anesthesia. In individual cases, local anaesthetic creams can be applied one hour before the treatment. As a rule, slight discomfort occurs in the first two to three days after the treatment, which is due to the injections.
Duration of action of the hyaluronic acid filler
The duration of effect varies from person to person. As a rule, 1-2 treatments/year are required for wrinkles and 2-3 treatments/year for lips to maintain the desired effect of hyaluronic acid. The treatment can be repeated as often as required.
Before wrinkle treatment with filler
Please let us know before a treatment with fillers,
- if other wrinkle treatment products have already been used on you (many products cannot be combined with each other)
- if you have taken blood-thinning medication within the last 7 days before treatment (e.g. medication containing acetylsalicylic acid, vitamin E or gingko-containing medication or preparations, including multivitamin preparations). This increases the risk of bruising (haematoma) after treatment – if you occasionally suffer from cold sores (treatment in the relevant area can trigger a new flare-up)
- if you have a known allergy to injectable filling materials
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended)
Many customers have wrinkle injections at the end of the day or lip injections before the weekend. If any minor irritations are also covered up afterwards, the treatment is generally not noticed by work colleagues, for example, apart from the desired positive effect.
Risks & side effects
Treatments with hyaluronic acid products have been carried out many hundreds of thousands of times worldwide. The vast majority of customers treated were satisfied and had no significant side effects, but enjoyed the results achieved. However, no medical procedure is guaranteed to be completely free of risks. Injection-related reactions such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration or sensitivity in the treated areas often occur after the treatment. Such reactions usually disappear on their own within a few days after injection into the skin and within a week after injection into the lips. Further information can be obtained from your doctor.

Wrinkle treatment with Lanluma
Lanluma can be used to optimize various parts of the body in a minimally invasive way, including the buttocks, thighs and arms. By injecting Lanluma, we can improve the shape, volume and firmness of these areas. Stretch marks, cellulite and post-operative atrophy or lipoatrophy can also be treated effectively.
After the treatment, it is important to massage the treated area for about ten minutes every day for up to two weeks after the last session. You should also avoid direct sunlight for 10 days after the injection and refrain from going to the sauna or swimming pool for about a week. Physically strenuous activities should also be avoided during this time.
Treatment zones
Jawline
Treatment of the jaw-chin line, also known as the jawline, is suitable for defined facial contours. By injecting hyaluronic acid, sagging areas of the face can be visually tightened and lifted. It is also possible to make the jawline appear smaller through targeted correction. In men, on the other hand, jawline contouring can be used to emphasize the jaw, giving the face a more masculine appearance.
Cheeks
Unwanted wrinkles on the cheeks, which often stretch across the entire center of the face like a net, often make those affected look older than they actually are. They form over time, especially in people who suffer from dry skin and spend a lot of time in the sun. Cheek wrinkles can be optimally corrected with a gentle correction using hyaluronic acid. By adding volume to the cheeks using hyaluronic acid, we can also achieve more defined facial contours.
Nose
As an alternative to rhinoplasty surgery, a precise injection using hyaluronic acid is an ideal way of smoothing out slight imperfections. Thanks to this minimally invasive treatment method, the surgical risks associated with conventional rhinoplasty can be avoided. As hyaluronic acid degrades by itself after a certain period of time, it is also possible to reverse the results of the treatment. This would, of course, not be possible with a surgical procedure. Unwanted nose wrinkles, also known as bunny lines, can also be easily corrected with an injection. A gentle injection into the muscle responsible for the wrinkles reduces its activity – with the effect that the wrinkles are visibly smoothed out.
Chin
So-called chin wrinkles, which often cause a grim or older facial expression, can be visibly corrected by injecting hyaluronic acid or by treating wrinkles with gentle injections. The wrinkle that usually runs across the chin or the wrinkles that run across the entire chin like a grid can be treated in a targeted manner – for a more youthful appearance. If the chin is receding, hyaluronic acid can also be used to build up missing volume. The chin is optically projected forward so that a profile that is optimally adapted to the proportions of the face is achieved.
Frequently asked questions about wrinkle injections with filler
General information on wrinkle injections with filler
Who is eligible for wrinkle treatment with fillers?
Wrinkle treatment with fillers is particularly suitable for people who suffer from initial volume deficits and wrinkles in the face. This can make the facial expression look tired and aged, which leads to increased discomfort for those affected. In this case, a wrinkle injection with filler can be an excellent method to rejuvenate the external appearance and make it appear more vibrant.
What is a filler?
A filler is primarily a filling material of which there are different types. The most common material is hyaluronic acid, which binds water and thus builds up volume. Active ingredients that are rarely found on the market are silicone oil or animal collagen. The patient’s own fat is also very popular as a filling material, but this material is difficult to control as a filler and only has a limited shelf life.
What fillers are available?
Both hyaluronic acid and autologous fat can be used to reline and smooth the facial skin. Both materials have the advantage of being very well tolerated, as hyaluronic acid is also based on a substance produced naturally in the body. Injections with autologous fat are particularly suitable if there is too much fat in another part of the body that needs to be removed. The fat can then be processed and injected into the face.
Hyaluronic acid is a particularly popular filler and is available in various viscosities. It can be used to reline and visually rejuvenate the face, individually adapted to the tissue structure. In addition to hyaluronic acid, there are also other materials, such as so-called skin boosters, which have a certain refreshing effect on the skin.
At the prevention center, we will be happy to advise you on the various treatment methods that make sense in your personal case after a comprehensive consultation!
How long has Filler been around?
Fillers have been around for a very long time, especially autologous fat. Over the last thirty years, very different filler materials have been developed and have either disappeared from the market again or have proven themselves over a long period of time, so that today we have very safe and versatile fillers available in cosmetic medicine.
How long does hyaluronic acid last?
In order to determine how long the effect of a wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid will last, it is necessary to consider which part of the face is injected, which substance is injected how deeply and the nature of the individual tissue. As a rule, however, our customers can assume that the hyaluronic acid will be effective for around 4 to 9 months.
How often can hyaluronic acid be used?
The hyaluronic acid used in medicine is based on the body’s own substance and is therefore particularly well tolerated. Once the effect of a hyaluronic acid injection has worn off, the treatment can be repeated as often as required.
What are the advantages of wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid?
Probably the biggest advantage of wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid is that the substance is based on the body’s own fluid, which continues to break down with age. This means that the injection supplies the body with an active ingredient that it needs anyway. Hyaluronic acid refreshes the skin from the inside out, moisturizes it and stimulates collagen formation. Hyaluronic acid generally does not trigger allergic reactions and can be broken down by the body on its own.
Is there an antidote?
As an antidote for fillers, we have the so-called hylase – an enzyme that also occurs naturally in the body and breaks down the filler. We can inject this hylase so that the hyaluronic acid is broken down within 24 hours. However, hylase only works with hyaluronic acid; there is no antidote for other fillers.
Can hylase be used in a targeted manner?
Hylase is a drug that works very selectively. It is not known exactly how much is needed to break down a certain amount of hyaluronic acid. However, you can feel exactly in which zone the hylase needs to be injected. If the amount injected is not sufficient, it can easily be injected again.
What about risks such as necrosis and blindness?
Two very important risks that we always inform patients about with filler injections are necrosis and blindness. Necrosis refers to damage to a blood vessel. If the filler is injected into a vessel, it can become blocked. As a result, the blood circulation at this point and in the adjacent vessels is disturbed and the skin area can die. Necrosis is a very rare occurrence, but we will explain it to you in detail in our clinic before every injection.
Procedure for wrinkle injections with fillers
Where can I use fillers?
Fillers can be used in a variety of ways to build up volume and smooth out static wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is particularly suitable for lip injections, for treating nasolabial folds or for contouring the cheeks. In principle, fillers can be used to treat anything that can be evened out with volume.
Is the treatment painful?
In contrast to wrinkle treatment with gentle injections, somewhat thicker needles are sometimes used for filler treatment. As far as pain is concerned, it depends on how the individual feels the pain and which area is being treated. We often apply an anaesthetic cream to the skin before the treatment to reduce the pain to a minimum.
Aftercare for wrinkle injections with fillers
What should I do after the treatment?
After the treatment, it is important that you do not press or massage the treatment area, as this can cause the gel under the skin to deform. You should also avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds and sport for the time being. Make-up can be applied carefully to conceal even slight redness.
When can I do sports again after a wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid?
Although you will normally feel fit and socially acceptable again immediately after wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid, we recommend that our clients do not exercise on the day of treatment. This is because the hyaluronic acid still has to spread and settle in the tissue. You can resume your sporting activities as usual around 24 to 48 hours after the injection.
What do I feel immediately afterwards?
Immediately after the treatment, you will feel a slight swelling. The swelling can also be visible from the outside, just like bruises. Depending on the treatment area, a slight feeling of tension may occur.
Can the filler treatment also not work?
Of course, customers may not notice any effect after two weeks. Nevertheless, the filler material is still in the body and can be felt like an implant, only the swelling from the procedure has subsided. As you get used to the new appearance very quickly, once the swelling has subsided you may feel as if nothing has changed compared to the initial findings. However, this is purely psychological.
