Thread lifting is an established, non-surgical lifting treatment with specially developed and absorbable threads that makes you appear naturally younger. As skin incisions are avoided and threads are used instead, the method is particularly gentle. The threads used are made of polypropylene. Polypropylene threads have been used successfully in medicine for many years – the thread lift is now another area in which they can be used effectively.

A thread lift has a twofold treatment effect: the threads form an invisible support structure under the skin, which tightens the skin for a long time. At the same time, the continuous breakdown of the threads causes new collagen to be formed, which in turn improves the skin’s elasticity. Results are visible immediately after the treatment and in the long term after 3 to 4 weeks. The results then last for up to one and a half years, although the threads dissolve after just 6 to 10 months.

How does thread lifting work?

Thread lifting is a gentle procedure without incisions or surgery. The thread is inserted into the skin tissue with a so-called micro-needle under a small local anesthetic. After the needle is removed, the thread remains in the tissue and forms a mesh of collagen and elastic tissue. Depending on the region, different threads are used, for example with small barbs or spirals. This makes it possible to tailor the treatment to your individual needs. The skin is gently massaged and cooled at the end. The first effects are visible immediately. There are virtually no side effects. After this outpatient procedure, you are immediately socially acceptable – no scars, no artificial appearance.

Before the thread lift

  • No aspirin or other blood-thinning medication one week before treatment
  • No alcohol the day before

After the thread lift

  • Only use make-up after 2 days
  • No sport for approx. 4 weeks
  • Sleep on a soft pillow for the first few days and avoid strong chewing movements
  • No facial massage for 2 weeks, no sauna or solarium
  • No intensive facial treatment for 4 weeks
  • No alcohol for 2 weeks

Disadvantages

  • Local redness and possibly bruising
  • Slight swelling
