What is a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is the optimization of certain areas of the body that have changed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This primarily includes the stomach, hips, breasts and thighs, which have changed their shape and/or in some cases have accumulated stubborn fat deposits. Many women want their body to look more like it did before the birth of their child and to regain a firmer body silhouette. This may require one or more procedures.
Who is the Mommy Makeover suitable for?
The Mommy Makeover is suitable for all women who are dissatisfied with their body after pregnancy or breastfeeding and would like to have one or two improvements made. However, the prerequisite for this is that family planning has been completed if possible and the last breastfeeding period has already been over for at least 3 months. The mammary glands need this time to stop producing milk and to regenerate. This is why it is only possible to assess the condition and shape of the breast after this time. You should also be close to your desired weight (+/- 5 kg) and have maintained this weight for at least 3 months. It is also important to ensure that you have support from family and friends to care for your children after the treatment.
Which treatments are carried out during a Mommy Makeover?
This depends entirely on the individual wishes of the customer. The most common procedures performed during a Mommy Makeover include tummy tuck, liposuction, breast lift or augmentation (with implants or autologous fat) and intimate correction.
What should be considered before the Mommy Makeover?
You should be in good physical condition. If you smoke, you should refrain from smoking for 4 weeks before and after the treatment for your own safety. Please inform us as early as possible about any pre-existing conditions or medication you are taking so that we can tailor the treatment plan accordingly. Some medications have to be discontinued before certain treatments. You will find out more about this during your consultation at our prevention center in Zurich.
How does the Mommy Makeover in Zurich work?
Each treatment is preceded by a detailed personal consultation in which we find out about your specific problem areas and discuss your wishes and ideas. We then draw up an individual treatment plan for you, which includes the procedures required for the desired optimization.
These can vary greatly depending on the initial condition and personal wishes, meaning that the procedure varies greatly from person to person. Some of the possible treatments must be performed under general anesthesia, but all operations can be performed on an outpatient basis at our prevention center in Zurich.
Depending on which procedures have been carried out, the aftercare will also be slightly different. For surgical procedures such as liposuction, abdominoplasty or breast lift, you will need to wear supportive compression garments for the first few weeks. You should also refrain from physically strenuous activities such as sport. With your treatment plan, you will also receive detailed instructions for aftercare, including check-ups at our prevention center in Zurich. Please follow these instructions to avoid complications and to support wound healing.
Are there scars after a mommy makeover?
This depends on which procedures are being carried out. While very fine cannulas are used for liposuction, for example, which leave almost no visible scars, scarring cannot be avoided with a tummy tuck or breast lift. However, at the prevention-center in Zurich, we make sure that the incisions are made in the most inconspicuous places possible so that they are barely visible or can be easily concealed later on.
Are there any risks with the Mommy Makeover?
Every surgical procedure is associated with certain risks. These include swelling and bruising, which usually subside on their own within a few days. In rare cases, secondary bleeding or infections may occur. The risk of complications can be minimized with an experienced surgeon like Dr. Köhler and by adhering to the highest standards of hygiene.
What should I bear in mind after the Mommy Makeover operation?
After the operation, you should allow yourself sufficient rest so that your body can recover from the procedure. Slight pain may occur in the wound area, but this can be easily treated with commercially available painkillers.
You should wear compression garments for the first 6 weeks after the procedure to support wound healing. Avoid sport and other physically strenuous activities during this time. You can usually resume normal, light everyday activities after just a few days.
How much does the Mommy Makeover cost?
Every woman is unique – just like every Mommy Makeover, which can include different treatments. The costs vary depending on which procedures are carried out.
